Frequently Asked Questions

High performers ask great questions — here are the ones we hear most from clients before we start working together.

What’s the difference between a coach and a consultant?

A consultant is an expert who tells you what to do—often providing solutions, frameworks, or strategies based on their own expertise.

A coach, by contrast, helps you sharpen how you think, decide, and lead—so you can generate your own solutions, apply insights across different situations, and build long-term leadership capacity.

In short: A consultant solves the problem for you. A coach helps you become the kind of leader who can solve any problem—with greater clarity, speed, and confidence.

Both are critical for peak performance, and both are often utilized in my executive coaching sessions and peak performance and skill-building workshops. The ratio of each method differs depending on the format and situation.

How do you tailor your coaching to individual clients?

Whether this is a coaching engagement or workshop, we tailor every coaching engagement to you—your strengths, challenges, goals, and the realities of your business environment. With over two decades as a client-facing Wall Street executive, we understand the pressure to perform in high-stakes, fast-moving environments. We combine that real-world leadership experience with neuroscience-backed strategies to help you lead with clarity, resilience, and impact.

Talent development isn’t about rigid formulas or passive listening—it’s about bringing the right mix of insight, practical tools, and brain-based techniques that actually work for you. We have a toolkit built from lived leadership and cutting-edge science, and together we’ll use what moves the needle for your success.

How do you use your work experience as an executive coach and in your workshops?

With 20+ years as a client-facing Wall Street executive, I don’t shy away from sharing practical, actionable guidance. It is particularly useful to do this when applying neuroscience-backed strategies to real life situations faced by professionals. In other words, we are able to solve problems and move forward using real life experience to connect what is discussed to your specific environment in which you operate.

This compliments the heart of our coaching and training which is to help you develop your own insights and internal tools to lead through complexity, ambiguity, and high-pressure environments—so you not only succeed in the moment, but develop a playbook of tools and behaviors for every challenge.

How long is a typical engagement?

Coaching programs typically run 2 to 4 months, with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. We define clear goals up front and tailor everything to your specific role, challenges, and pace.

The duration of the Peak Performance and Skill Building Workshops depends on the scope of the engagement and number of topics desired. These are often purchased as a package since so many of the micro skills are desirable and are interconnected. The workshops can be structed in a tailored way. For example, it may work best to conduct a 2-4 hour event on a single day or a 1-2 hour event over several days or weeks.

Who do you typically work with?

For skill enhancing / peak performance workshop topics, I typically work with newly promoted groups, high potential company programs, or specific cohorts such as female-focused initiatives. For executive coaching, I can work within any level of the organization, but people are usually high-performing professionals in client-facing, leadership, or high-stakes roles – those who have been identified as driven, and ready to level up.

Can you train our managers to have the skills to be a “Neuro-based Coach” as a leadership style?

Yes. Based on contemporary neuroscience, we give leaders and managers the best tools and techniques for becoming coaches themselves. Our Neuro-based Coaching for Performance framework helps leaders strengthen relationships, achieve results, and get the best from their talent, quicker and with less stress – all with a “performance mindset” in mind to drive bottom line results from their teams.

For more senior leaders, understanding and applying the principles of neuroscience in leadership decision-making is not about eradicating the human factor; rather, it’s about enriching it. It is about leaders becoming architects of a brain-friendly culture, where decisions are carved with precision, empathy, and an in-depth understanding of the human brain.

Can developing “Neuro-based” skills have impact on the client side?

Importantly, the Neuro-based coaching method also extends to enhance client coverage and sales skills. Understanding how the brain informs client decisions and influences outcomes is a lens that benefits people whose career success is a direct result of optimizing client relationships.

What is Unique About Neuro-Based Coaching?

Put simply, neuroscience is the study of the brain and the nervous system and how these systems function physiologically to transform sensory stimuli into output, actions and/or reactions. Coaching is another transformative process of guiding and enabling change within a client for positive outcomes.

Coupling these two provides a deep impact emphasis of self-awareness about how one’s brain is wired to process information, learn and create habits while simultaneously using that awareness to dismantle self-limiting beliefs, doubts, anxieties and narrow perspectives.

One of the best outcomes of neuroscience-based coaching is to be able to expand a person’s “capacity” to handle stress and optimize performance and results. This includes redirecting your brain to minimize (and eventually negate) the pathways that block your potential by forming fresh and productive ones that override it.

Put simply, neuroscience is the study of the brain and the nervous system and how these systems function physiologically to transform sensory stimuli into output, actions and/or reactions. Coaching is another transformative process of guiding and enabling change within a coachee for positive outcomes.

Coupling these two provides a deep impact emphasis of self-awareness about how one’s brain is wired to process information, learn and create habits while simultaneously using that awareness to dismantle self-limiting beliefs, doubts, anxieties, narrow perspectives and biases. This enables a new road map to be created that will form positive habits, thoughts, perspectives and actions. Thus, neuroscience-based coaching can redirect your brain to minimize (and eventually negate) the pathways that block your potential by forming fresh and productive ones that override it — thereby creating lasting, beneficial impact.

With neuroscience-based coaching, one of the aims is to be able to develop a person’s capacity to think and process information bilaterally as much as possible.
